Now insert the microSD card with the Rogue firmware on it into the empty microSD card slot. Set the newly removed microSD card aside and store it somewhere safe in case you need to go back to stock for some reason. Cut the sticker and remove the microSD card. This sticker isn’t required, but it’s there for warranty purposes. Once you’ve removed the back plate, locate the internal microSD card. Also, the shoulder buttons are just resting in the front half of the device and they fall out pretty easily. Be cautious when doing this as the battery is glued to the back plate and the battery cable is short. Remove the 4 screws from the back of the RG350 and then remove the back plate. Then use Win32 Disk Imager to write the Rogue firmware (sd_image.bin) to the microSD card. Use the SD Memory Card Formatter to format the microSD card a couple of times for good measure. Insert the microSD card into the reader and insert the card reader into your PC. You’ll want to download and install (as applicable) the 4 pieces of software listed above in order to complete this. SD Memory Card Formatter for Windows Download Note: The 16GB microSD card is optional, but I encourage you to keep your stock firmware microSD card stock just in case you need to go back for whatever reason or if your custom firmware gets corrupted, you can always go back to stock. That being said, let’s move on to what you’ll need in order to install Rogue. A big reason is that Rogue shows the actual battery percentage rather than just a battery indicator. That being said, though, there are some user interface improvements that come with Rogue that were my main reason for installing it. This video/blog isn’t meant to encourage you to install Rogue or to even explain what Rogue is other than an alternate firmware for the RG350.
